My Uncle Jack was a life-long denizen of the river towns Bellevue and Dayton, Kentucky. A veteran of the Korean War, he battled mental illness most of his life, but was a beloved character around the neighborhood. I was his VA custodian for the last 10 years of his life and made this portrait right before he passed peacefully in a nursing home. He would have rather been down by the river.
