Portfolio > The River's Edge

My father's family lived on the banks of the Ohio River, settling in the town of Bellevue, Kentucky, in the late 1800s. My mother's family came up from Appalachia in the 1920s and settled in the next town to the east, Dayton. I, too, have lived close to the river on and off for many years. The river here is omnipresent, effecting the weather, reflecting the sky, a distinctive back drop to life. Boat culture, river camps, river towns, river roads, industries along the river, fog, floods, borderlands. All have been the inspiration for various works.
